Apartments User Manual

In Siena, waste collection is separated by type and for each, you will find a special bin. If
your stay is less than a month, mix ORGANIC waste with UNDIFFERENTIATED.

• paper
• plastic/metals - multimaterial
• organic
• undifferentiated / non-recyclable

Please empty the bins provided before departure and return the bins to the apartments.
CasaLeTolfe encourages all our guests to reduce the use of single-use plastic in daily choices.

Please do not leave waste outside to prevent attracting wild animals onto the grounds of Casaletolfe instead of staying in the woods.

Surely if you have been in Italy for a long time, you will have already had the opportunity to get to know Moka and you will be able to prepare an excellent coffee without our instructions!

In the kitchen there are two taps with drinking water:

• main one (the largest) which provides hot and cold water, filtered and softened (to be used for the kettle)
• the smallest tap gives only cold water, it is called DIRECT because it is unfiltered but it is drinkable.

Both can be used for both cooking and drinking.

Gas for cooking:

• For safety reasons, the staff turn off the GAS handle after each departure. It is located on or near the kitchen worktop or under the kitchen sink.
• PRESS AND TURN THE HANDLE TO “OPEN”.

Certain windows are equipped with mosquito nets to allow fresh air to flow in while keeping mosquitoes out.

To make mosquito nets work best we ask you to:

• Accompany softly when opening and closing
• Always keep the mosquito net's handle parallel to the window sill. Secure the handle in place at the bottom
• Notify us immediately if something doesn't work so we can repair as soon as possible

Remember that the mosquito net blocks the flow of air, so it may make sense to open them to cool the environment.

The shutters on the outside of the apartment doors and windows can make a huge difference if you want to keep your apartment cool.
If you open them, please secure them fully open by either using the little chain or the shutter stoppers on the outside walls.

When you open the shutters, the shutter stopper should automatically lock the shutters open.
To release them again, pull down gently on the hooked edge until it relase shutter.

Tuscan summer is beautiful but it can also be very hot!

You will find mobile air conditioning in some of the apartments, but above all fans and fans!

The switching on of radiators depends on regional permits, usually, here in Siena, from the beginning of November the switching on times of radiators are around:

• in the morning from 06.00 to 08.00;
• in the afternoon from 14.00 to 16.00;
• in the evening from 7.00 pm to 11.00 pm.

Check-out: 11 AM.

Before leaving, please remeber to:

• leave the keys on the table
• set the thermostat to 0°, turn off the air conditioning, fans and lights
• empty the bins provided before departure and return the bins to the apartments.
